Valley racers arn't confined to operating stock cars or sprint cars when it's time for the "Pine Box Derby" cars to take the track (this year the Edmeston NY fire department offered the use of their facility). Pine Box Derby cars are made from 2.5 X 2.5 X 6 blocks of pine wood and is a once a year Cub Scout project where the scout does all the work on the car as possable. Dad or grampa will cut the shape of the racer and maybe help with the assembly of the wheels while all the remaining work like sanding, painting and embelishing is done by the Cub Scout. Believe me race fans, the Scouts are extremely proud of their race cars.
