NY STATE CLASS D CHAMPIONSHIP, EDMESTON 2 - SEWARD 2

After two regular game periods, two ten minute overtime periods, two five minute sudden death overtime periods, the game was deadlocked in a 2-2 tie. As the photos indicate, the majority of the contest was played in a driving rain, making every part of the game most difficult. It's been a tough road, starting with Davenport, and on Friday and Saturday the Panthers came up against Chazy and Seward, last years Class D co-champions. Friday Chazy was defeated in a thrilling battle that needed overtimes to determine the outcome. Saturday the Panthers fought it out with Seward, the game ending in a 2-2 tie, that once again dubbed the class D outcome a co-championship affair between Edmeston and Seward. The game was fought out in crummy conditions with both teams doing a super job defending. The game could have been won by either team. So remember, "co" is way better than "no"
